Dear Lovers,
This has been a summer of adventure from sea to shining sea!
We had the
privilege of attending the Worldwide Marriage Encounter convention
in Los
Angeles, CA. It was truly a multicultural and international event.
Our group
consisting of ourselves, our two teenagers and Fr. Mario were
graciously housed by a Hispanic couple, Raul and Miriam and their 3
beautiful
daughters. This combined with being joined at convention by the
three couples from
Italy who Fr. Mario invited really brought to reality that we are
"world-wide!
We had some great experiences at the convention, however what really
struck us
was the unity, the power and the love we experienced in the LA community.
In a
recent dialogue we compared their relationship as community to our
own
relationship as a couple when we are taking the time
to be together as a couple, to dialogue, to work together as well as
have fun
together. Raul and Miriam surrounded us with members of
their community and
we experienced such energy and passion as well as openness and compassion
among
these couples. The key element that ran consistent
when we asked how they maintained this vibrant community, was that
they spent
quality time together. We know TIME is a difficult subject and
obstacle for
most of us, however, our prayer is that we can all make quality time
with our
spouse and with our ME community a priority, because we know and have
experienced how valuable and worthwhile and well as fun this
time is! We all
need the support, encouragement, love and fun times shared with those
who share
our mission and our values!!
SO… We end by inviting all of you to join us at the Community
Enrichment on
"Playfulness, Passion and Prayer" that will be held on Saturday September
25
from 9AM to 4PM at Our Lady of Grace Parkton. We will have 3
presentations, Mass at 3PM, continental breakfast and lunch will be
provided and we will have packets providing some great new sharing
circle outlines
to take home and use!!! You can register on line at wwme.net
or call Kurt and
Torie Thompson at 410-544-7247. Registration fee is $10 per couple.
We look
forward to being with lots of loving community on that date!
With our love,
Fred © Kathy © Fr. Mario
